Larry Broadhurst is the managing partner of Broadhurst Investigative Services and is in a partnership with Edward Gutierrez. Both Larry and Ed are licensed California Private Investigators.
Larry Broadhurst has 40 years of Law Enforcement and investigative experience and has a bachelor’s degree from C.S.U.F in Business Management and finance. Larry retired from law enforcement in 2009 after 37 years with the Los Angeles Police Department. The vast majority of those years (32 years) Larry was assigned as a Detective, investigating and supervising thousands of criminal and sometimes civil matters relating to Major Assaults, Domestic Violence, Sex crimes, Auto theft, Burglary, Fraud, Elder abuse and financial crimes. Larry also spent over 15 years developing extensive expertise in narcotics cases ranging from persons under the influence to international trafficking organizations.
Larry has conducted close proximity personal security and in-depth investigations for corporate heads, V.I.P's, and A-list celebrities. Larry is also a life time member of the California Narcotics Officer Association (CNOA), International association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI), The Private Investigators Group (P.I. Group), Professional Investigators of California (P.I.C.A) and California Association of Licensed Investigators (C.A.L.I)
Ed Gutierrez has over 33 years experience with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) with 23 years as a Detective, and 19 years as a Detective Supervisor. During his law enforcement career Ed has worked assignments in Vice Investigations involving organized criminal sport betting, and prostitution. He has also investigated auto theft, residential and commercial burglaries, felony assaults, robbery and homicides. Ed spent 23 years in narcotics enforcement conducting investigations on a local, state, national and international level. During the last 14 years of Ed’s law enforcement career he was the Supervisor in Charge of the Marine Anti-Smuggling Team (MAST) which consisted 22 Local, State and Federal Officers and Agents. The area of operation was the Los Angeles and Long Beach Harbors but the investigations extended from Alaska to the Galapagos Island. Ed was later assigned as the Group Supervisor for The High Intensity Drug Task Force (HIDTA) responsible for drug interdiction of major drug cartels for drug smuggling, money laundering, and asset forfeitures. In these assignment Ed developed an extensive experience working with Federal Agencies and the Department of Defense assets. Ed has extensive experience in the recruitment and management of confidential sources, surveillances and covert undercover operations. Ed also has extensive experience conducting Federal Title III Wire Intercepts and State Wiretaps.
In addition, Ed has over 20 years of experience in corporate security operations involving law enforcement liaison, corporate espionage and executive security with an emphasis in the pharmaceutical industry. Upon his 2007 retirement from the LAPD Ed was employed as personal protection and security for a Foreign Diplomat and his family.
Since 2009 Ed has worked as a Private Investigator for several well respected California law firms and security specialists. Ed has conducted numerous detailed investigations of cases involving civil litigation and personal injury including several cases involving deaths. Ed also has utilized his expertise in surveillance techniques and case management to successfully thwart the efforts of unwanted stalkers of many high profile celebrities and corporate heads as well as documenting the activity of targeted persons' clandestine indiscretions.
